No gi order
Not attacking just grab one arm and trap the foot
Shoulder pressure both directions
My regular hand on the hips to trap the foot
Rolling up and over your shoulders when they push back up and going for the straight ankle lock.
Back to grabbing the arm, not trapping the foot, side mount and S-Mount escapes
Grapevine in
Started with shooting and having your partner sprawl on top of you, posture up and pull half guard
As the person is taking Mount you need to get your hands on their hips and push them down. Work back in the butterfly guard if they lead with their foot. If they lead with their knee, go into half guard.
If they attack your neck you have to protect it but hopefully you will control their hips well enough they will not be able to
1
Not attacking
Grab the belt with both hands and push the person's hips down. One hand comes off as you hip escape and gets the the elbow on the mat behind you and hip escape again and get to your knees
2
Grab the opposite pant leg of the foot that's coming over in the mount and stuff it into 3/4 mount and then half guard
As the person is mounting, grab the opposite foot from the one that is coming across and stuff in between your legs
3
Push on one hip, grabbing the pants of the hand that's crossed, straighten the leg and use the other foot to turn on the side. Push the knee down and use the bent knee to collect the foot. Working the half guard
18.5 Side mount escapes
S-mount is harder because you need to get off your back and onto your side first
Hip escape
- Bottom knee in, 3/4 mount, turn in, hip escape as you push the knee down
- Top knee into knee pit to your ankle, bottom foot hooks the knee, lever the hip away from you.
If the person is already in s mountain and threatening to take your back, I will do the second one with the top knee
No gi
Same beginning as previous but partners foot gets to the hip. Top knee comes in
Shoulder pressure with grape vine
Grape vine - no gi
Bring your heel to your butt and kick your legs straight to bring the foot on the inside now you're turning on your side and bringing your elbow to your knee
No gi
Crossing the ankles underneath the leg
- bring knees to chest to bump the person onto your hands, push on the hips and pop both knees through into butterfly
- Pop the person's tips up and one leg comes inside and the other goes around the hip for the heel hook
Lapel
Trap the elbow of the hand that is going into the lapel. Bring it across your chest. Trap the foot block the choking hand on this one that's from shoulder pressure you have to grab the bicep on this one Adrian shoulder pressures foot
Other way
In nogi, two on one the wrist, trap the foot, look over your shoulder
Gi
Not blocking the foot as you throw your hips, elbow to bottom knee, hip escape into
- Bottom knee comes up and hip escape in the half guard
- top knee comes in
No Gi
Show from both
- grabbing the arm and throwing your hips up, blocking the ankle and from s mount
- Same as previous but from s mount
Opponent not attacking
Push on the stomach with both hands and hip escapes through the knee
No gi
Push your partners hips down and they force them up pushing their armpits and get your feet in their armpits and roll
And then hands on the hips turn on your side
Pushing the hand down from gift wrap
If the person is posturing up too much and not attacking, push the belt down, stiff arm and hip escape
Push the arm down when they're trying to gift wrap you. They will attack your neck. Then you have to protect your neck
Pushing down on the person's hips far enough that you can bring your bottom knee inside as you hip escape. Push the fly away with the bottom knee. Top leg wraps and goes on to your partner's thigh and then you roll to the heel hook
